Day 2

Wow! Here we are at the end of day 2 a d it has been a truely blessed day! So here’s the dAily run down. The dY started for your truely at 6:30 for some rime alone walking the camp then coffee my some of my new camp councilor homies. So after the students started lining up for breakfast. Oh yes, they have to line up outside and they let em in 15 at a time. I’m not gonn lie, this is where being a grown up is actually cool ;P after breakfast we had another chance to hear the singers do thief thang. This time up it was small groups and trios. Again no CSM. While were on the subject, this WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN! (my fault) after which we had a really funny and heartfelt message from Bro Nohnny Pope. This time it was about Honoring your mother and father (and all the parents said…”amen”!) but joking aside is was a really good time. If you have never beard Johnny Pope you must hear him, there’s got to be a podcast or something. Maybe I will source and add to a future update (no promises). After the message we had lunch and a few orginized games (think challenges from CBS’s Survivor). Then it was free time till dinner and then back to head brother Pope preach. This time the sermon had a TOTALLY different feel. This time there was NO funny bussiness, it was very to the point, and the point was Salvation! The thrust of the message was…uhhh…the alternitive of going to Heaven. Praise God many young people came to know Christ as their saviour! Including 2 CSMers!!!! After the evening service a buch of student originized a sing along, they even got a some students from other churches. It was a great time of singing and praising. After that is was time to head back to the cabins for some general Tom-foolery, followed by devotions.

Well that pretty much does it for day 2. Continue to pray as God is already working in the hearts of our students.

Yesterday we challenged our CSM Students to have a great attitude no mTter the sittiation and blam this mornings devo deals with just that. Pretty cool.

Camp has Begun!

Camp For Blog 1.001

Yippy! We are here. Day one went swimmingly, as all the students jumped right in and got their camp on. OK…so where to start?…Well lets start with the trip up. The van ride was fun. Of course there were the normal van hijinks but whats more, the van would not go over 55 MPH! So it took a bit. Once we did finally make it to Timberline we were welcomed by a 1.5 hour registration process. That was fun. Once registered we were off to lunch…mmm…hamburgers :) after which we got settled into our cabins and then it was time for all the good campy camping stuff. Im talking canoeing, archery, hiking and the like. Next thing you now, it’s dinner time. mmm…BBQ Chicken (was the food really that good or do I just like to eat?) after dinner we were treated to great time of music, sketches and an amazing message from Johnny Pope. After the evening service we all stuck around to listen to the vocal competition (soloist and duets) needless to say that the vocalist were not expecting to put on a stage show for 450 campers (oh yes, did I mention that there are like 400 students here this week + counselors)!! So needless to say they were VERY nervous. After listening to a little singing (and a whole lot of knees knocking) it was free-time and then we were off the the cabins for devos (devotions) and bed. Well that pretty much covers it for Day One. Keep checking csmlife.com for the latest updates. I do not know how often I will get an opportunity to write a recap like this one, but I will try :) For the absolute latest on what is going on with your little camper, Follow CSM on Twitter at twitter.com/csmlife
